Marvel Zombies: Shotguns Won't Help You

I'm not sure how this happened, but somehow a comic book mini-series from Marvel about their entire superhero universe turning into zombies and eating everyone on the planet slipped past me unnoticed. Even crazier, the mini-series was spawned from a storyline in Ultimate Fantastic Four, a title I was reading at the time. In Ultimate FF, Reed Richards gets lured into a parallel universe by his parallel self, only to find when he gets there that all the superheros are zombies. Anyway, I lost interest in that title shortly afterwards because I really liked the artist, Adam Kubert, and he left (as usual). Surprisingly, Marvel had the nuts to do a spin off of that parallel universe full of zombies called ... wait for it ... Marvel Zombies. It is one of the grossest comic books I've ever laid my eyes on, but it is awesome. Superheros rot, intestines are eaten, limbs are torn off, the top of Captain America's head is cut off and he walks around the rest of the story with brains oozing out, etc, etc.

I highly recommend it. Out is hardcover now.
