2 Years Into the Iraq War America Says: "Boooorrrrring"

I was amazed to find that there is almost no coverage today of the two year anniversary of the U.S. invasion of Iraq. The "Today Show" had a tiny piece on it which consisted of a single short segment on letters home from two soldiers killed in the invasion. Nothing of note on Fox, CNN or the BBC's main page.

ABC actually has a relatively short article on their front page that attempts to put some historical perspective on the invasion, but doesn't come close to addressing all the false reasons the Bush administration gave for invasion in the first place.

The CBS Web site has a decent article looking back at the last two years, why we supposedly went there, what's gone well, what's gone wrong, etc.

And the worst part? The following stories were listed more prominently on every site I checked:

-A Florida judge won't let Terri Schiaro die
-A Michael Jackson update
-Dave Letterman is glad his kid wasn't kidnapped

Ayaan Hirshi Ali Forgotten in Story About Van Gogh's Murder

There was an interesting story on 60 minutes last night (yeah, I was watching it for the interview with George Lucas) about Ayaan Hirsi Ali, the woman who wrote the screenplay for the movie Theo Van Gogh was killed for last year in Amsterdam. The movie, "Submission" was written by Ali as a criticism of the way Islam treats women. She's a pretty amazing woman and I was surprised when I saw this peice how totally overlooked she was in the coverage of this story. It was all about Vincent Van Gogh's film-making descendant being murdered for this film he made.

Toy Stores: The New Front In The War On Terror

These are the coolest thing to happen to toys since the invention of the "kung-fu-action-grip" and Todd McFarlane. I bought the one on the left and right cause they more immediately make me feel like I'm fighting the War on Terror from my desk at work ... but I'm thinking of picking up the other one just to round out the set. They're only $9.00. Buy two! (From Dusty Trail Toys)

I Feel Like Total Crap Today

I had a couple drinks lastnight. Now I feel like crap.
