Rot Your Mind From Anywhere

Now I won't miss the start of Monday Night Football every week while I'm on the train. Rumors are flying around that Sony has a TV tuner in the works for the PSP. I've read in a few places that the idea of a memorystick based TV tuner has been on Sony's radar before but the demand for anything and everything PSP has brought it back to life. The image posted here looks like a legit tuner attached to a modified Memory Stick Duo. The PSP uses the Duo Pro, but you can imagine the leap in tech from the Duo tuner to a Duo Pro tuner can't be a big one.

nba live 06 new screens

New screen shots of NBA Live06 for the xbox360. I've seen the video these are from ... some look good, some look almost overdone (like there's too much detail on the image maps). Some of the guys eyes look freaky as well but it's still early.

Father's Day Marketing

A couple Father's Day promotions. Durex had a funny ad for rubbers and a cash machine at Lucas Films shit out a rather lame Star Wars poster you could only get by giving them $20 to see the movie ... again. The Durex ad did a great job of taking advantage of their product's juxtaposition to a holiday while Lucas simply recycled an old image used to promote the latest movie and slapped on a lame catch phrase that stylistically has absolutely nothing to do with the movie.

Cool Look At Starbucks Logo Evolution

Deadprogrammer.com has a interesting look back at the evolution of the Starbucks logo from a freaky, bare-breasted, double tailed mermaid to the abstract "inoffensive" version they have today.

Gameplay Video For NBA 2K6http://www.blogger.com/img/gl.link.gif

I've seen screenshots of this and reaction from press about the gameplay footage from E3 of NBA 2K6 for the xbox360. I finally got around to googling it today to check out the actual video of LeBron James. Most people were blown away but question if things will look this good when you get 10 guys the court and thousands of fans in the arena. We'll see, the official dev kits for xbox360 just shipped out to studios last week or so. Either way, this footage is pretty damn cool. I'm guessing the original footage had higher definition since this is simply a quicktime movie posted online but the thing that impresses me most is the physics and motion of the animation -- not the graphics. I can't wait for 360.

Be patient, you'll have to sit through a comercial first.

Who Does She Have To Fuck To Become Lieutenant Governor?

This is the porn star that ran for Gov. of California back in the Gray Davis recall, right? Now she's schmoozing with the GOP at The President's Dinner, an annual fundraiser for the Republican party. She ran as an independent during the 2003 recall as she will when when she runs for Lieutenant Governor next year. But for the time being she's apparently a Republican -- I guess to boost her chances in next years election. Shit, girl. We all know what you need to do to win the election.

Worst ... Merchandising ... Ever!

Lucas has hit an all time low with these "Collectible" vomit bags for Virgin Airlines. Don't worry, if your a nerd on a budget you don't have to hop a flights trying to collect these like Burger King glasses -- they're available in stores now!

While all four bags do their best to be funny, none really succeed. The only one that comes close is "The Art of Jedi Combat" bag which seems to go against everything I learned in sex ed by suggesting that with the Jedi Mind Trick "no" can actually mean "yes". Uh, what the fuck is that all about?

<kent brockman>This Just In: Simpson Movie In Preproduction</kent brockman>

The much hyped Simpsons movie looks like it has moved another inch towards reality. Supposedly it is in pre-production now, with a rough script in existence and in front of the core voice talent. Very cool. It also sound like this doesn't mean the end of the TV series (the feature film had long been planned for production after the TV series finished up).
